Windows at Turner HallLocation: Cincinnati, OH
Construction Timeline: June – August 2020
Architect: elevar
Client: University of Cincinnati

HGC removed and replaced 441 windows on the University of Cincinnati Turner Hall in just 53 working days.

Check out another large-scale window replacement.

HGC was the Lead Firm for this Design-Build window replacement and façade repair. The residence hall, despite being only 18 years old, showed significant water issues at and around the existing windows, as well as on the masonry facade. After a thorough assessment with Architect partner Elevar, the team determined that more than basic window replacements were needed. The adjusted scope came to include window flashing installations within this phase of the project, as well as other recommendations for future water mitigation repairs.

HGC and Elevar partnered successfully on another recent Design-Build project.

Turner Hall is part of the Turner-Schneider Complex, which offers suite-style living to nearly 600 students. Three teams were mobilized and moved systematically around the elevations of the building. This allowed the project to be completed in just one summer, in time for students to return to campus. Being located on UC’s downtown campus, the job site was considered an occupied urban area, and great care was taken to ensure the health and safety of the team, the campus, and the general public.
