We are thrilled to add the latest Sleepy Bee Café to our renowned list of restaurant projects. Bam Realty contracted HGC Construction to build the third installation of the popular breakfast and lunch eatery which is located at 8 E. Fourth Street in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio.

The space also is home to bar concept, Aster Social Sippery, situated two stories above the picturesque café. Among the many remarkable features of the space are the wood trusses situated atop Aster’s 25-foot ceilings. HGC successfully extracted the heavy wood timbers from the structure and reworked them prominently into the upscale bar.

“We really enjoyed bringing this unique project to life. Pulling the facade of the building back 11 feet to create Aster’s patio was particularly challenging but we pulled it off and the results are breathtaking. There’s really nothing else like it in town.” – Project Manager, Jake Suer.

Situated in the central business district, the building was the longtime home to the renowned Burkhardt Bros. Clothiers. Today, the 6,000 square foot restaurant will seat about 110 occupants and serve breakfast and lunch. Designed by MMA architect, Michael McInturf, the warm rustic design features modern lines and successfully leverages existing features such as exposed brick, illuminated by the aluminum and glass garage doors that make up the curtain wall.
