It has been busy on-site at Symmes Elementary, but students are back to school, and school is back in session! Thankfully, construction on the fourth of five additional wings that the school is slated to receive wrapped up just in time for the student’s first day. Check out what this project looked like in the beginning of the year. The project broke ground in November of 2020 and has been progressing rapidly. Since then, crews have tackled more than 65,000 SF of new construction. Teams on-site have been focused on specific tasks to meet their deadline of August 30 when Symmes returned back to school. The to-do list primarily consisted of: Dropping ceiling pads into the ceilings Laying flooring throughout the four new wings Installation of new kitchen equipment Surfacing the north parking lot and main parking lot Education is one of HGC’s sweet spots. Explore another recent school renovation Over the next several months, the team will be focused on finishing the fifth and final wing. This wing will complete the new construction portion of the project. The focus will then turn to finishing punch list items and ensuring a smooth turnover. The project is scheduled to wrap up by early 2022.
