Work is well underway at the site of the future Meshewa Event Center in Indian Hill. This 11,500 SF building is often referred to as “The Mansion” at Turner Farms. With HGC on the job, the renovation and construction of Meshewa Event Center is on track to be completed by May of 2019. It will then serve as a venue for weddings and other community events. Check out HGC’s other entertainment projects. The original structure, pictured above in approximately the late 1930s, was originally a private residence. At some point in the 1980s, fire engulfed the entire second floor after an electric heating blanket caught fire. More recently, the structure and the land around it has been a part of Indian Hill’s Turner Farm, one of three working farms remaining within the village of Indian Hill. For some time, the area was temporarily leased by Cincinnati Waldorf School for their early childhood education program. The Event Center will create unique opportunities to welcome a wider audience to this beautifully preserved setting dedicated to local, organic, low-impact food production that grows healthy communities and healthy ecosystems. Demolition began during the first week of September. The HGC team is constructing an entirely new second story to replace what was lost in the fire. Structural stabilization is required throughout the building, and the teams are making incredible progress. The final product will honor the aesthetic of the historic building, but it will not be an identical match to how it appeared in the 1930s. The final product will also include an extensive landscape package. Upgrades to the surrounding environment will be made around the entire building, as well as to the parking lot. Designs for the landscape are still be finalized.
