CZBG Plans $12M Gorilla World Expansion The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden has chosen HGC Construction as the Construction Manager to build the $12 million expansion of Gorilla World. The expansion will create a large, indoor “greenhouse” that will be about the same size as the existing outdoor facility. This will also allow guests to view the gorillas year-round. The indoor exhibit will be approximately 4,350 SF with 50 linear feet of viewing glass to enhance the experience between the patrons and the gorillas. HGC Construction is also working behind the scenes to build out holding rooms and transfer areas for the gorillas. The new back-of-house configuration will help the Zoo in their breeding and conservation efforts. The planning for this project began in 2015 and will commence in November of 2017.
