Energetic wolf-howls filled the air, and chants and cheers bounced off the walls at the Mercy McAuley ribbon cutting on the morning of August 15, 2018. The ribbon cutting celebrated the beginning of the first school year with the new Mercy McAuley identity. HGC Construction was honored to update the facility in order to meet the needs of a new school population.
Two Communities, One School
Mercy McAuley is the new school created from the merger of Mother of Mercy High School and McAuley High School . The merger was announced in March of 2017. The schools operated as normal for the remaining school year and the next. This meant that all updates and changes had to be completed during the summer of 2018, in time for the first day of school.

The project involved updating the auditorium, gymnasium, landscaping and a new plaza in front of the main entrance, refreshing all common spaces to reflect the new identity, and a Legacy Center to preserve beloved pieces of both schools’ histories.
