Among the Top Historic Redevelopment Projects in OTR
WCPO Cincinnati did a “non-scientific poll” in May of 2016 asking area architects, preservationists, and others their thoughts on some of the best recent historic redevelopment projects in Over-the-Rhine. HGC was pleased to find that Taft’s Ale House [1] made number 3 and Parvis Lofts [2] made number 6. HGC acted as Construction Manager on both of these projects.
Taft’s Ale House
Renovation of the three-level brewpub housed in the former St. Paul’s German Evangelical Church is based on William “Big Willy” Taft and features a blend of industrial and Victorian design. The $8,000,000 renovation includes two bars, a large beer hall with communal tables, traditional dining space and a private dining room.
Parvis Lofts on Vine
10 historic buildings in Over-the-Rhine were renovated and interconnected into 32 modern apartments, including 1 lobby and 10 white box commercial spaces. Three of those spaces were also fit-out by HGC: Gateway Sales Center, Mannequin Boutique and The Brandery. A Common courtyard space was completed using Parvis Alley.
The full list includes:
