Location: Cincinnati, OH Construction Schedule: December 2011 – March 2012 Customer: Scripps Networks Interactive, Inc Size: 28,500 SF Architect: KZF Design This project included an interior fit-out of two floors of the Scripps Networks Interactive offices in the Scripps Building on Walnut Street in Downtown Cincinnati. The project included construction of new Class A offices; open work stations, and support/amenity spaces such as conference rooms, storage, reception area, break rooms and an IT/telecom area. HGC maintained the project’s tight schedule by staying ahead on the framing and working with the architect to adjust and modify the design in real time. HGC’s attention to detail and knowledge of the comprehensive design allowed quick reaction to stay ahead of the curve. The high-rise building only had one freight elevator which could have slowed production on all phases of construction due to accessibility of material and personnel movement. To overcome this obstacle, HGC scheduled large material removal and material deliveries on Saturdays. Many materials were too large to fit inside the elevator, so HGC coordinated with elevator technicians to open the cab hatch doors so long materials could be loaded in the elevator. HGC Construction even went as far as placing extra-long counter tops atop – not in – the elevator cab and stopping the elevator a floor below its destination so that the countertops could be maneuvered into the work site.
