Hughes STEM High School Renovation Location: Cincinnati, OH Construction Schedule: 26 Months Customer: Cincinnati Public Schools Architect and/or Engineer: CR Architecture + Design Size: 330,000 SF HGC Construction began a top-to-bottom renovation in July 2008 that dramatically updated the Hughes STEM High School and also incorporated new energy efficiencies. The 330,000 SF building was modified to provide better ADA access and a more open learning environment with updated technology. A new two-story garage was also built. The extensive renovations to the building include: new windows, restoration of existing doors and woodwork, restoration of existing brick, restoration of existing terra cotta, renovation of existing gymnasiums, new athletic equipment, new visual displays, new hydraulic elevators. Construction took place while school was in session, classes were moved to the annex and professional buildings attached to the high school.
