Location: Cincinnati, OH Construction Schedule: November 2013 – February 2015 Customer: SREE Hotels Architect and/or Engineer: CR Architecture + Design HGC Role: Construction Manager The historic 14-story Enquirer Building was renovated into modern 144-room Hampton Inn and a 105-room Homewood Suites. The Homewood Suites occupies floors 4 – 8, while the Hampton Inn occupies floors 9 – 14. Each guestroom floor consists of approximately 21 rooms. The first floor houses the vestibule and historic lobbies with the valet and bell station. Retail space is available on the first floor. The second floor has separate check-in areas for the hotels. It houses a fitness center, library, business center, separate Hampton and Homewood lounges, billiards, food preparation areas and offices. Guests can walk up the “grand stair” or take elevators to the floor. The third floor houses conference and meeting rooms, a bar, kitchen, board room and offices. Before construction began, crews had to undertake extensive interior demolition. Construction for both hotels took place simultaneously to meet the construction schedule. Historic aspects of the building were protected and restored during construction, including plaster and marble and the passenger elevator cars. The historic storefronts, revolving doors, and canopies were also restored to their original condition.
