Location: Florence, Kentucky Schedule: January 2014- October 2014 Customer: Holland Restaurant Group Architect: Wendel Associates The $10 million Holland Restaurant Group’s headquarter building, Districts of Taylor Mill, will be known as the Trifecta because it combines local Cincinnati favorites Graeter’s, Skyline Chili and LaRosa’s under one roof. The 35,000-square-foot building is the first development in the Districts of Taylor Mill, a multimillion-dollar 157-acre commercial development near the intersection of Interstate 275 and State Route 16, or Taylor Mill Road. The two upper floors are used for medical office and general office tenants. The original plans for this project included a four-story building. The owner’s budget was not able to accommodate the cost of the fourth floor so HGC worked with the owner to eliminate the fourth floor and proceed with the project. Plans also originally called for the upper floors to include balconies. Through value engineering it was determined that by eliminating the balconies, additional square footage could be added to the building, therefore adding extra sell-able square footage. Construction on this project began during one of the snowiest winters on record in the Cincinnati Tri-state area. A total of 35 days were lost due to weather, but HGC was able to make up 75% of those days, allowing construction to be completed on time.
