A large medical administrative office complex sought to offer a childcare center as a resource for its employees. Nearby, St. Paul Lutheran Church featured a convenient location and already contained several grade school classrooms no longer in use. HGC Construction completed renovations to the structure to convert it into a licensed daycare wing now known as The Children’s House.

The project required updating many features including roofing, HVAC, plumbing, and electric. The original structure was built in the 1970s and lacked the open floorplan and natural lighting preferred in more modern educational settings. With this in mind, HGC updated many finishes. The welcome reception area was updated to bring in more natural light, and the crew installed new windowed doors throughout the facility to bring natural light into the corridors.

Many spaces required the installation of new partitions to make effective use of the space. A cozy nursing suite was created, and the crew also renovated the stage area in the gymnasium so that it can serve as an additional classroom.
