At HGC, we believe in sharing knowledge and making a difference. Our project team at the Lower Price Hill Thrives project hosted the Introduction to Carpentry students of Goshen High School. Students received a thorough project tour as well as hands on experiences. Learn more about the LPH Thrives project. HGC makes a point to support local workforce development. We collaborate with community partners and strive to recruit talent from the neighborhoods in which we work. We offer a fully licensed Apprenticeship Program, certified by the Ohio Valley Association for Builders and Constructors (OVABC). HGC builds OVABC award-winning projects The training course allows participants to work four days per week as an HGC employee, and then receive hands-on industry training one day per week. Each applicant must pass a placement test in order to receive their final certification. Once all four years of hands-on training is completed and the placement test passed, the participants graduate from Apprentice to Journeyman Carpenter. They are able to take this training and certification anywhere in the country, and their hard work and experience will be professional understood and acknowledged.
