HGC’s high-quality self-perform force known as Trade31 delivered several parklets to downtown Cincinnati restaurants. In March of 2020, the world stopped and took a deep breath. Little did we know  we would be holding that same breath almost a year later before life began to resemble what we knew before.

Explore HGC’s work in a highly-anticipated downtown restaurant.

The City of Cincinnati and specifically Over The Rhine had to reimagine how they would safely provide spaces to the thousands who frequent the popular bars and restaurants that span from the riverfront to Findlay Market.

Take a look at some of our recent bar and restaurant work.

After much collaboration and coordination between 3CDC and HGC, the parklets were born. Part of a “streateries” program, this outdoor dining initiative includes:

  • 49 new parklets
  • 5 zones with sidewalk bump-outs
  • 4 partial street closures to create seating space

This project also featured work by another Group of Companies member, Stewart Iron Works. They handcrafted and installed custom rails and other metalwork features. Many of these projects, while motivated by the pandemic, will become permanent patio space.
