HGC’s recent project at Maple Knoll Communities was recently awarded with LEED Platinum Certification.
According to the U.S. Green Building Council , “LEED-certified homes are designed to provide clean indoor air and ample natural light and to use safe building materials to ensure our comfort and good health. They help us reduce our energy and water consumption, thereby lowering utility bills each month, among other financial benefits. Using the strategies outlined in LEED, homeowners are having a net-positive impact on their communities.”
The expansion of Maple Knoll Village , a full-service retirement community in Springdale, Ohio, is called Coventry Court Villas. This new construction  includes three multi-family senior independent living buildings that house 11 new villas consisting of living space with 2 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a den, attached garage, patio, and open floor plan concept.
LEED Platinum status was accomplished by designing the new buildings to include features such as: low-maintenance landscape design, storm water capture & water efficient irrigation systems, energy star roof shingles, energy star appliances, high efficiency gas furnaces, tankless gas water heaters, high performance low E window, high performance doors, LED lighting fixtures, use of recycled and locally sourced building materials, construction waste management & recycling and lastly, roughed-in electric in each garage for optional car charger stations.
All Coventry Court villas are brick, vinyl and stone construction with professionally landscaped grounds and covered entries. Also included with these unique villas are attached one-car garages, additional parking spaces, two-hour firewall construction, 24-hour medic alert system and 24-hour security.
