HGC Will Revitalize Abandoned Norwood Building with Ventura Builders Group

[1]Ventura Builders Group has been flipping Norwood homes for a few years now. Now, they may be leaders in flipping the Norwood business district. They will revitalize the former Fidelity Professional Building. The abandoned building will be converted into an event center and class A office space. HGC is the Contractor on the project.

This redevelopment is a multi-million-dollar investment. The project covers two buildings that have been combined—the 1920s original structure, and a 1950s addition. The first floor will become the 7,200 SF event center, with the other floors being white-boxed into office space. The project is moving forward in the face of the COVID-19 health crisis, while taking every precaution to protect workers and the public.

HGC crews are currently completing interior demo, as well as punching openings for new windows and a new storefront. The interior design is being finalized, particularly the high-end finishes that will be included in the event center. There are plans to re-purpose one of the former bank’s historic vaults as a bar area.

The project is a perfect fit for HGC. As a key player in the Renaissance of the OTR neighborhood [11], HGC has proven to be a leader in renovations of historic buildings. HGC’s own Self-Perform force will be enhancing the integrity of the facade by adding a Hardie cornice, trim and belt course to the exterior.
