In 2005, HGC collaborated with 3CDC [1], Wichman Gunther Architects [2], and NorthPointe Group [3] on The Duncanson Lofts, centrally located in the Gateway Quarter of Cincinnati’s historic Over-the-Rhine neighborhood. This project included the renovation of six historic buildings into twenty-five new urban living lofts/condominiums and 9,450 SF of street level retail space.
The building is named for Robert Scott Duncanson, an influential, 19th century, African-American painter responsible for many of the murals in the Taft Museum of Art [4]. Check out the below Wall Street Journal article for a cool scrolling before and after of one of the very first projects that garnered Cincinnati national attention and helped restore O-T-R’s built environment for future generations to enjoy.
