Location: Cincinnati, OH Construction Schedule: March 2015 – December 2015 Customer: Living Arrangements for the Developmentally Disabled, Inc. Architect and/or Engineer: emersion Design Awards: LEED Silver Certification HGC Construction provided construction management services for a two-story, 10,200 square foot addition to the Living Arrangements for the Developmentally Disabled, Inc. (LADD) campus. A key function of the project is to provide open work space to allow for training and education for residents. The center houses key administrative staff allowing for expansion of living quarters in the existing buildings. The building design included eight inch concrete walls utilizing insulated concrete forms (ICF) that add two inches of insulation on both the exterior and interior faces. A standing seam metal roof and wall panel system provides durability and the use of a color shift paint on all metal surfaces allows the building to change color based on viewing angle and sun location. A geothermal well system was installed to increase efficiency. Steps taken to achieve LEED include erosion control and utilizing recycled and regional materials on the project.
