The Great American Ball Park Fioptics District began as a standard walk up concession stand and converted into a fully functional walk-in bar. The ceiling was left exposed and painted black, and the concrete floors were ground to expose the aggregate that was smoothly polished and sealed. These features gave the bar an “industrial” look and feel. Cincinnati Bell, the title sponsor, adds “tech” elements to the bar by illuminating the front panels with a metallic finish and a concrete bar top with a mixture of red glass for a unique look. For a retro, warm feel, most of the walls are clad with a mahogany wood veneer or thin brick.

Along with the bar, there is a back space with patio seating area. Directly above the bar is a new rooftop party and bar deck on what was the existing roof. This entailed significant steel reinforcing as well as routing of mechanical, electrical and plumbing utilities up to the new “Skybar”. The rooftop deck features a restroom, ipe, wood pavers, mahogany wood veneer, an over-sized AV wall, and a fully functioning bar and buffet.
